Operation of controller:
Ability to measure air flow velocity of incoming ambient air and outgoing hot air through top vent.
PID control of fan speed in response to temperature setting of grill as measured by high temperature grill probe.
PID control of bottom and top louver servo’s in response to temperature setting of grill as measured by high temperature grill probe
Ability to externally monitor, through a data link to a PC, all temperature data in real time – data stored in Excel spreadsheet
When the lowest setpoint food temperature probe reaches setpoint, automatically reduce the temperature of the BBG as measured by the grill probe to the food setpoint temperature – this probably requires the closing of both the inlet and outlet vents and completely turning off the fan for a while until the BBQ temperature starts to drop.
In the event of an unexpected temperature drop in the BBQ due to opening the lid, the event time and lowest temperature should be recorded and stored in memory. Following such an event, rapid response to increase temperature back to grill temperature setpoint.
In the event that grill setpoint temperature cannot be maintained and temperature is BELOW setpoint, signal user that fuel needs to be added to BBQ.
WiFi module capable of continuously sending out grill temperature and food temperature for each food probe. Ability to change all temperature setpoints remotely from android or Iphone. Open lid warning, low fuel warning and “food has reached temperature setpoint” warning sent to android or Iphone.
Operation of multi-plexing board:
Interface between main controller and temperature probes.
Interface between main controller and top vent (air flow sensor and servo which controls position of air louver).
Operation of top vent connection board:
Provide input/output connection between multi-plexing board and air louver servo.
Provide output connection between air flow sensor and multi-plexing board.
